Birthdate/Sign: September 10, Virgo (word of god states that Heisuke was born in September but gives no specific date, virgo suits him better than libra)
Tattoo: To the left of his throat on his neck
Suitability: He's 23!
Power: Increased healing speed
Personality: Heisuke is the youngest captain in the Shinsengumi, and it shows. He's treated as a younger brother by the other captains, although mostly to get a rise out of him, which works amazingly well. Heisuke is quick to anger, but also easily amused and cheerful. He's generally enthusiastic about life, particularly when around his friends or girls. He has no problems sneaking out during the middle of the afternoon to go drinking with his friends in the red light district.
He's also a simple sort of man, coming right out and saying he doesn't read much and choosing to protect Chizuru instead of sorting out his political opinions. At times, this causes him problems, because no matter how much he agonizes over a decision, he usually regrets his eventual choice. While he drifts away from his friends because of conflicts of interest, he inevitably comes back, and he is quick to step to their aid in good times or bad.
Heisuke's family background is complicated, because he is an illegitimate child of a lord. He has a lot of insecurities relating to people caring about him, because his father pays Heisuke off to never come near him. As a result, Heisuke has never known a true family and is convinced that nobody outside of the Shinsengumi would care if he lived or died.
From his own comments and comments made about him, he's not as good at handling pain as some of the other Shinsengumi(crying after being injured until the medicine kicked in) and fears death(he can't sleep before he's going to take point on a patrol because he's thinking about getting killed). The fact that he is very much afraid of dying(when he took the ochimizu, he was only thinking of not wanting to die), proves that he is an extremely brave individual for rushing into battles and risking his own life to save others.

[Oh look, everyone. It's some scenery. Upside down scenery. How nice-- Oh, there we go, there's Heisuke, equally upside down, a brown tattoo visible on the side of his neck. He was holding the camera-side away from him at first, and he jolts with shock when he sees his face on the screen.]
Now it's a mirror? What the hell is this thing?
[And then the video gets blurry as Heisuke shakes it rather violently in frustration. God, this is stupid. He's going to break the damn thing before anyone even gets a chance to explain it to him.]
Why is it glowing? When did someone invent a glowing mirror that is only a mirror sometimes?
[He's muttering to himself as he prods at the screen until he eventually hit a button and the video feed shuts off.]
"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
The first thing Heisuke is aware of when he lazily opens his eyes is that there is sunlight pouring onto him. And it doesn't make him feel ill. For a long moment he can't remember why that's weird. Then the events of the past few weeks smacks him over the head and he sits up, alarmed. He's outside, and he has no idea how he got here. Okay. No need to panic, he doesn't seem to be hurt anywhere and maybe he got drunk last night and just... forgot coming here. Or something.
Heisuke stands up, not feeling the least bit sleepy after the shock of waking up in a strange place. There's a circle of water that doesn't seem to connect to any stream and the whole place screams of a shrine. This is a religious place, and that just makes it weirder to wake up without any knowledge of how he got here. He'd normally be quick to check for anyone he knows and then leave, but he wants to see what's in that box.
"The hell?!"
He yelps when the water rises, although the pain in his neck barely even processes. After nearly dying less than a month ago, little pains don't bother him, and magic water is way more of a problem. His reflection is unusually clear in the water, and he's abruptly aware that holy shit he's naked. Except that, when he looks down, he's... not. He's only naked in the water. And he seems to have obtained a two-inch across Virgo sign on the side of his neck.
He immediately decides that he's dreaming and slaps himself across the face. Nope. Still here.
Damn.
